New Members and Volunteers Wanted 1st Melbourne Cubs and Scouts – Be Prepared! Calling all potential Cubs and Scouts in Melbourne and the surrounding area. We are looking for new members to join our Cub Pack and to re-start a Scout Troop. As ever we would also love to hear from anyone who may be interested in joining the leadership team. Interested in being a Cub? Cubs are young people aged 8 to 10½ who: Master new skills and try new things Have fun and go on adventures Make friends Are curious about the world around them Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond Every week, they gather in groups called Cub Packs to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to and having lots of fun along the way! We (usually) meet in the Scout Hut in Melbourne Playing Fields from 7:00pm to 8:30pm every Thursday in school term times. Attendance varies between 16-20 Cubs. Interested in Scouts? We have just restarted a Scout Troop in the village and would love to hear from anyone who would be interested in joining. Scouts are a go-getting group of young people aged 10 ½ to 14 who: Master new skills and try new things Make new friends Have fun and go on adventures Explore the world around them Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Scout Troops to conquer the small task of changing the world! We (usually) meet in the Scout Hut in Melbourne Playing Fields from 7:00pm to 8:30pm every Monday in school term times. Able to help? To help us run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts we are looking for adults and young leaders to join our team. Leadership in Scouts is rewarding and fun and can take many forms from uniformed leaders to parent helpers and can be flexible around work and other commitments.
